Age Limit:
As per the Tamil Nadu Public Service Commission Recruitment Notification, the candidate should have a minimum age of 21 years and a maximum of 60 years .

Selection Process:
- Written Examination: Conducted as a Computer Based Test (CBT) with Paper I (Part A – Tamil Eligibility Test, Part B – General Studies, Part C – Aptitude and Mental Ability) and Paper II (Subject Paper related to the chosen post). For Tamil Reporter and English Reporter posts, Paper II is a Stenography subject paper of Diploma standard.
- Minimum Qualifying Marks: Part B and Part C of Paper I and Paper II are evaluated only if a candidate scores at least 40% (60 marks) in Part A of Paper I.
- Onscreen Certificate Verification: Conducted before physical certificate verification and interview; candidates are admitted in the ratio of 1:3/1:4 (posts without experience requirement) or 1:10 (posts requiring experience), based on minimum qualifying marks and reservation rules.
- Physical Certificate Verification and Interview: Candidates are shortlisted based on marks obtained, subject to the number of vacancies in each reservation category (two or three times the vacancies, depending on the category size).
- Interview: Assesses the candidate’s personality, bearing, aptitude, general knowledge, and technical knowledge relevant to the post.
- Final Merit List: Based on the total of marks from Part B and Part C of Paper I, Paper II, and the Interview (maximum 510 marks in total), subject to the rule of reservation of appointments.
